IHD admits for hearing petition filed against NAB amendment ordinance

ISLAMABAD:    Islamabad High Court (IHC) has admitted for hearing petition filed against NAB amendment ordinance besides issuing notice to federal government.

The court has also summoned Attorney General (AG) on next hearing for assistance. The court has also issued notices to secretary National Assembly, secretary Senate and law secretary.

The petitioner could not get stay order regarding NAB amendment ordinance.
A single bench of IHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) Athar Minallah took up the case for hearing Thursday.

GM Chaudhry, counsel for the petitioner Hanif Qureshi appeared in the case.
GM Chaudhry told the court laws were already there and the major clause was removed from them by making amendments. Bid was made to provide justification to corruption by promulgating ordinance. The process for appointment of chairman was also changed. If corruption of these institutions is removed then only Naib Qasid is left safe.

The court while issuing notice adjourned the hearing of the case for three weeks.
