FAISALABAD: The Business Community of Faisalabad is fully cognizant of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and is helping special children and neglected segments in addition to facilitating the members of the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), said Mr. Imran Mahmood Sheikh Senior Vice President.
He was addressing a special function on “White Cane” day in National Special Education Centre (NSEC) Millat Town. He said that we must fulfil our social responsibilities to make special children a productive and equally respectable segment of our society. He said that most of the visually impaired children are blessed with some extraordinary mental faculties and we must equip them with relevant skills so that they could earn their livelihood. He said adding that society must focus on special children to make them productive and self-reliant. He pointed out that in other countries traffic is stopped for a person holding white cane but our society lacks this moral value. He further elaborated that we must sensitize society by adding rights of special children in our syllabus. He appreciated the organized efforts of NSEC and said that he was ready to provide maximum facilities to inmates of this centre.
District Education Officer (Special Education) Chaudhry Abdul Sattar and Principal NSEC Sajid Khokhar were also present during this meeting.
The visually impaired children presented tableaus and participated in a colorful fun fair. There is dire need of maximum facilitation to such special children.
