Islamabad/Brussels: Chairman Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) Ali Raza Syed has expressed sorrow over death of two prominent figures Pakistan’s top nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Kan (AQ Khan) and former President and Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Sikandar Hayat Khan. According to a statement issued in Brussels Ali Raza Syed said, I am feeling unhappy and sorrow over passing away of both of the prominent personalities of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir.
About AQ Khan that he had rendered invaluable services to strengthen Pakistan’s defence capabilities. Ali Raza Syed added that the Pakistani nation had lost “a true benefactor who served his motherland with heart and soul.”
About Sardar Sikandar Hayat, he said, the passing of Sikandar Hayat is also a huge loss for entire Azad Kashmir. “His role in Azad Kashmir’s politics and even raising voice in favour of people of occupied Kashmir remained central,” he argued. He said, contributions of late Sikandar Hayat to the Kashmir cause and his services to the Kashmiri people were invaluable. Ali Raza Syed said, my prayers and condolences go to families of both figures.
