“A teacher is not a king but a king maker”

Noor Bakhsh Saleem
The world Teachers’ Day is celebrated internationally in every year on 5th October, this is the day to thanks all beloved teachers for their brilliant role and contribution in our life. Teachers play the most vital role in the success of any country. It’s a fact that teachers don’t only teach but also motivate and inspire to be the best of the best students and persons ever. Moreover, it is crystal clear that after our parents the people who most significantly impact our lives and a life-long love are our teachers. Undoubtedly, A quotation truly quoted: “A teacher is not a king but a king maker.”Teachers are the builders of nations, they are the ones who make us Assistant commissioner, Deputy commissioner, doctors, engineers and lecturers. However, on this day, the preeminent and significance is highlighted that a teacher is the one who changes their students’ lives through his or her knowledge, love, and care. Certainly, teachers are our elders as elders they deserve respect and it is also the part of social and moral values to respect them. In addition, it is the duty of every one of us to give respect to teachers who work so hard to make us good persons by imparting education to us along with building our personalities and shaping our future. We sometimes may feel that some teachers are strict with us, at times they might be tough on us but in hindsight it is only to shape our talents to make us to fight with our fears and to work on our weaknesses. To be frank, a good teacher not only teaches and imparts knowledge to their students but also they inspire, encourage and motivate students for life and instil curiosity to find out solutions to problems. In likewise, once Alexander K. Trenfor remarked, “the best teachers are those who show you where to look but don’t tell you what to see.” Teachers are ones who are more respected than someone else. A teacher tries to understand the problems of the lazy, or weak students and bring them to the right path to achieve their goals. A teacher is someone who sacrifices his or her whole life to give quality education to his or her students. Teachers always try their best to show his or her students the right paths by encouraging them. So a teacher is like a brother and sister, when a teacher becomes friendly in class then students pay more attention and bear positive fruits. William Arthur, one of the most quoted American writers explains, “the mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.” Teachers are known best and special persons in the world and teaching is a noble profession which comes with so many responsibilities and duty towards students. They keep working hard to boost the confidence of students and direct them in the right direction. There were many teachers who dedicated his or her all entire life in empowering their students and making them a better and successful human being in their life. Nevertheless, as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk quoted rightly, “A teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others.” It means teachers are the backbones of every nation, without teachers, a single country can’t develop. If we see in this world, there are many excellent personalities who are ever alive in our heart, because they gave us much knowledge and brighter our up coming future. So I was very lucky to have such teachers; like School, (Sir Riaz Ahmed, Sir Asghar Ali, Sir Younus Shah, sir Zafar Iqbal and etc). University, (Dr Waseem Barkat, Dr Ghulam Jan, Dr Riaz Ahmed, etc) who have changed my life and showed me the right ways.As A.P.J Abdul Kalam said, “If a country is to be corruption-free and a nation of beautiful minds, I strongly feel there are three key societal members can make a difference. They are the father, the mother and the teacher.”To sum up, I heartily thanks and congratulates this honourable day to my all teachers who supported me each step of my educational life. I am forever grateful for your unyielding support and endless patience with me! Thank you for teaching me with care, compassion and love! Thank you my all beloved teachers and wish you a very happy Teacher’s Day.
