Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said that only an inclusive government in Afghanistan can bring peace and stability after 40 years of conflict and chaos.
In a tweet Saturday, Pakistan’s premier said that negotiations with the Taliban are now underway.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has just completed his two days visit Dushanbe, Tajikistan where he attended 20th SCO summit.
“After meetings in Dushanbe with leaders of Afghanistan’s neighbors and specially a lengthy discussion with Tajikistan’s president Emomali Rahmon, I have initiated dialogue with Taliban for an inclusive Afghan government to include Tajiks, Hazaras and Uzbeks” Prime Minister wrote.
In a subsequent tweet, PM Imran said “After 40 years of conflict, this inclusivity will ensure peace & a stable Afghanistan, which is in the interest not only of Afghanistan but the region as well.”
