Shangla: Under the supervision of Shangla District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Waheed, a one-day training was organized for the Heads of District Line Departments and DPMTs at Green Hilton Hotel Shangla Top. Addressing the participants, District Health Officer Dr. Abdul Waheed said that Polio is a deadly epidemic that affects children up to the age of five, paralyzes children for life, and even kills children. Children can be vaccinated against this contagious disease. He said that children under the age of five could be prevented from spreading the deadly virus by vaccinating them against polio. It is the national duty of all of us to participate in The Anti- Polio Campaign, On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shangla Hamid-ur-Rehman said that the campaign against polio is a national duty of all of us and insha-Allah we will soon achieve positive results in the campaign against polio, Deputy Commissioner Shangla said. Appreciating the cooperation and performance of the team workers, Deputy Commissioner Shangla issued clear instructions to all the participants that all available resources would be utilized to make the polio campaign a success.The one-day training workshop was also addressed by Focal Person TB Dr Ghafoor Ahmed, EPI Coordinator Dr Gulzar Hussain, District Polio Coordinator, WHO Dr Waleed Hassan and the need to work together to eradicate polio from Shangla.
