AJK offers funeral prayers in absentia of SA Gillani

MIRPUR (AJK),   (Parliament Times) :  Funeral prayers, in absentia, of Illustrious Kashmir freedom struggle leader Syed Ali Gillani were offered at all district headquarters a cross Azad Jammu Kashmir on Thursday.

President, Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir , Cabinet Ministers , members of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir legislative Assembly Hurriyet leaders and people belonging to all walks of life participated.

The funeral prayers of Syed Ali Gillani were offered in absentia in Muzaffarabad, Mirpur, Kotli Bhimber, Rawalkot ,Sudhnoti, Bagh, Havali Neelum and Jhelum valley of Azad Jammu Kashmir.

The participants prayed for the rest of the departed soul in eternal peace besides paying rich tributes for his unprecedented life long sacrifices rendered for the liberation of occupied Kashmir from Indian clutches.

They reaffirmed their resolve to continue the struggle of Kashmir liberation movement till the complete liberation of occupied Kashmir from Indian clutches and and to complete the mission of Syed Ali Gillani

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir government has, at the same time, announced three days of mourning on the sad demise of Syed Ali Gillani who passed away in Indian occupied Jammu Kashmir after prolonged illness late last night.

The death of the Kashmiri leader was marked with a day long State,holiday while the state flag remained at half mast.

Addressing after the funeral ceremony the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Sardar Abdul Qayyum Niazi while paying glowing tributes to Syed Ali Gillani said that he was a symbol of the Kashmiri freedom movement who had devoted his whole life for the liberation of occupied Kashmir and he was uncompromising campaigner against Indian rule and had been under house arrest for the past 11 years.
The Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir strongly condemned deployment of the Indian army on large scale to stop people coming from other cities to attend the funeral of Syed Ali Gillani. The Prime Minister expressed his resolve that the dream of a great freedom leader will be realized and his mission will live on until people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir win their right of self-determination .

The Prime Minister said the Syed Ali Gillani had devoted his whole life for the liberation movement and faced Indian repressions but never compromised on principles and added that he suffered incarceration and torture by the occupying Indian forces but remained resolute .

He made it clear that India, despite using all means of repressions, have failed to break the will of the Kashmiri people who have been struggling for the inalienable right to self determination.
