RAWALPINDI, (Parliament Times), (PR): Ambassador of Turkmenistan Ata Jan called on Muhammad Abdullah Hamid Gul, Chairman Tehrik Jawanan Pakistan(TJP) in which detailed discussion on the rapidly changing situation in Afghanistan, the TAPI gas project and bilateral issues. “Turkmenistan wants to promote peace and trade in the region and strives for the security of the Afghan people,” Atajan said. “Now that the Taliban government in Afghanistan is at peace, the (TAPI) gas project could be completed soon,” he said. On the occasion, Mohammad Abdullah Gul said that the Tapi gas pipeline project would not only meet the energy needs of Pakistan but also deepen the economic ties between the people between two countries. TAPI gas pipeline project is a major project between Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, starting from Turkmenistan via Herat, Kandahar and reaching Quetta, Pakistan, covering a distance of 1600 km. Which was stopped only because of the tense situation in Afghanistan.
