Social media has occupied a great importancein 21st centurybecauseitaccessesseveralefficientwayofcommunicationacrosstheworldandithastransformedtheworldintoglobalvillage.It is a tool is a tool that is becoming quite popular these days because of its user-friendly features. Social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and more are giving people a chance to connect with each other across distances.The youth is especially one of the most dominant users of social mediaIndubitably, According to recent study it suggests that 100 per cent youth utilise social media for site surfing and 94 per cent for downloading music or movies. In blogging with social networking sites, 59 per cent youth are found to be engaged while 79 per cent are utilising social media for chatting purpose and 84 per cent youth have reported social networking as their main purpose of usage, whereas 68 per cent youth are reported to utilise social media for checking e-mails. Along with facilitation of social media it also keeps impacts on society whether it depends on people in which ways they are going to use it . However, social has positive impacts as well as negative impacts in which few of them positive consequences such as entrepreneurship opportunities, easy interction with international academic institutions, online digital marketing and become easy to communicate all over the world without facing hurdles in communication. Despite having such unique advantages, social media is considered to be one of the most harmful elements of society. If the use of social media is not monitored, it can lead to grave consequences. Meanwhile negative impacts are such as , cyberbullying , privacy cases of blackmailing, inadequate privacy and including young are heedings towards vulnerable contents. It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s inclusion in Amazon seller’s list has created immense job opportunities in e-commerce through social media market related service. Hence, social media has both advantages and disadvantages but it all depends on the user at the end. The youth must particularly create a balance between their academic performances, physical activities, and social media. It has a considerable impact on both individual and society in social, cultural and political. Therefore, it is dire need to make use of social media in efficient ways and it should be followed developed countries such as USA, China and others how there youth population is utilizing social media in efficient manner
