Rawalpindi , (Parliament Times) :  A two-year English language teaching course for the inhabitants of “Apna Ghar” Anjuman Faizul Islam has been completed in which one hundred students of Anjuman-e-Faiz-ul-Islam were taught international language. The course was arranged by Rifah University in collaboration with the Embassy of USA with an aim to give under privileged student the access to English language.

Upon completion of the course, a Webinar seminar was held with Vice Chancellor of Rifah University Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed in chair. Representative of USA Embassy Regional Language Office David Fay, Abdul Majeed, course coordinator from Rifah University Kiran Rukhsana Mehbood and representative of students were present on the occasion.

The Vice Chancellor of Rifah University Prof. Dr. Anis Ahmed emphasized the importance of teaching in mother tongue and highlighted the role of book reading in personality building. He appreciated the conduct of English teaching course for the children of Anjman Faizul Islam and said that these children can learn more knowledge through English which will be useful to them in practical life.

Speaking on the occasion, David Fay said that this English language teaching program is designed to provide opportunities to the children of the marginalized sections of the society to learn English language and several such programs are running across Pakistan under the auspices of the US Embassy.

Course coordinator Kiran Rukhsana Mehbood said the program aims to provide English Language Learning opportunities to the youth as a tool to further enhance their education and learning experiences.
