Sayed Sajid Shah
Every year 4th August is celebrated as Police martyred day across Pakistan. The day is celebrated, always with great passion and honor to present extra ordinary homage, bouquet of flowers lovely, remarks for their sacrifices and sympathies to their kith and kin. In all the districts headquarters of the province of KPK the gathering and functions also took place. The stories and services of police martyred could be shared in all these events especially their braveness and commitment .On this day the police department gives support to the cause and strong message to the offenders, criminals and terrorists. The major function of police service is no doubt the protection and safeguarding of people lives and properties. Beside this cause for national integrity and sovereignty of the country, they present their soul , body ,properties and even blood to save Pakistan. The role and responsibility of police force could be found alike worldwide however; it is only the theme, cause, style and background which separate police of one nation from the other. Like why the Australian police and the police belong to Scotland and many developed nations could be found on the high level intensity of morality, humanity, cooperation and clear from corruption with few exceptional cases. Moreover, the police force of today needs strong beliefs, sophisticated arms and ammunition, investigation and reporting skill, self-protection devices and commando training adaptation system to fight enemy. Unfortunately, we have traditional approach and underdeveloped system which needs overhauling. No doubt that our principal cause of living does not match with other nations and we have had dream to sacrifice for the others(on land, country, oneness of Allah) but it does not mean that we must slaughter ourselves before the terrorist and criminals with our own hands called suicide. So we must have a technical background to kill the offenders while saving ourselves and our own homeland. Before 1990, the international scenario was totally changed as there were no terrorists organization exists. However, when the terroristic organization started violence the role of police was also changed. The first aim and objective of terrorist had fix idea of killing the innocents to raise fears and terrified situation in communities. Police being at front line could be the first target of terrorists always. Just imagine two days ago Abni Ameen constable was killed with hand granite attack on police van in Karkhano Market at Peshawer. What was his fault and why was he targeted? This question has simple answer, that police can be targeted easily because are vulnerable and they don’t take care of their own and how to move and where in search of culprits needs navigational support, maps, patience and preparation and they lack it?Even if they don’t know the sight where the terrorist organization and their workers could be found in huge number and how they can be targeted without injuring own self? Definitely they will damage themselves. Such criminals always wish to attack the front lines and run fast. Their motto could be demotivation in front line police force and also creation of disorder in the society. If we may go through history, we can easily understand, that police force had always threats and challenges from the culprits and criminals. Even in the world developed societies there could be found a tussle between these two opposite parties. In our country which possess Atomic power and Hub of Islamic nature could not be endurance by countries like India, Isreal and Afghanistan, So they used their full strength to create a situation of war inside a country through RAW, NDS and MOSSAD.Most of the bomb blasts, terroristic activities are carried with the support of these international criminal and spy agencies to destabilize Pakistan and also to make it infamous in the world. The police job was hard from the very beginning even in the reign of Hazrat Umar (RA) the great Khalifa when the police department was inaugurated with the sole aim of protection and services to humanity. It is a universal fact that all living things will die one day. When the death is known and it happens because of any pain or due to cough and temperature it is called connatural death. But when some one dies in a war against the Enemy especially the (pagans) it is called Jehad and such a death could be the aspiration of every Muslim in the world. Just think for a moment how Hazrat Khalid (RA)the companion of Hazrat Mohamamd(PBUH) and commander in chief of Muslim Army had great wish to be martyred in the battle field. Actually the martyrs’ will be the first one on the day of repercussions to get paradise without any judgment and assessment. In our religion Islam it has great value because whenever there raised a question on oneness of Allah it was answered by the people who strongly believes on Allah, right from that question until the sovereignty of land. In the last two decades our police officials had presented a very huge number of sacrifices. Each province and district has its own story regardless of the young men (jawans) who left their families in mourning forever but their homeland protected by their blood. The KPK police possess enrich history of police sacrifices on their homeland. Just imagine two Additional AIGs, three DIGs, one ASP,3SPs,19 ASPs,31 inspectors,137 Sub inspectors,130 Assistant Sub inspectors,161 Head constables,1240 constables sacrificed their lives for the land. In this scenario the highest claimed number who martyred in the war against terror include Peshawar with 482,Bannu 194,DIkhan 164,swat 128,Kohat 95,Charsada 94,Nowshera 38,Mardan 95,Swabi 44,Hangu 74,Karak 11,AbbotAbad 12,Haripur 10,Mansehra 30,Batgram and Kohistan 7,Toor Ghar 10,Lakki Marwat 33,Shangla 35,Buner 39,Dir lower 48,Dir Upper 41,Chitral 9.The number of martyred police could be found increasingly since 2007 However, the trust, moral and commitment of police is also appreciable and still the police jawans could be found ready and enthusiastic to sacrifice for their homeland.
