ZHOB: In order to ensure transparency in ‘Benazir Income Support Program’ operations, Director General BISP Zhob Division Abdul Jabbar visited Ehsas Registration Center at BISP office in Zhob and Sherani districts here. He personally met the female beneficiaries present at the centers where they shared their problems with him. DG directed the local staff for quick redressal of beneficiaries’ grievances and to facilitate the poor and deserving beneficiaries.
Flanked by Director Headquarters Manzoor Ahmed, the DG paid a surprise visit to Zhob and Sherani after Killa Saifullah and Khanozai. Zonal Manager Habib Bank Muhammad Asif briefed him about the operation being carried out in mentioned above districts.
The officials listened to the grievances of the beneficiaries and also visited the Ehsas Camp site on Bypass road where he urged the staff to compile records, facilitate the beneficiaries and provide them computerized receipts following their payments.
“Any leniency on the part of staff would be tolerated and no one would be allowed to deprive the poor of their rights,” the DG warned.
“BISP is playing a vital role in poverty alleviation and women empowerment and the main objective of the programme is to enabling the women to cope with the adverse situation without any fear and panic,” he said adding the empowerment of women can help in eliminating poverty in the region and BISP was leaving no stone unturned in this regard.
The DG also met Commissioner Zhob Division Shahidullah Khan and Deputy Commissioner Zhob and asked them for the provision of administrative assistance and deployment of lady police constables at the camp sites.
Earlier, DG also visited Killa Saifullah and Khanozai centers to inspect the facilities and payment process.
