Rasheed Ahmed,
Brussels, (Daily Parliament Times) : Speakers of a seminar asked the
international community not to allow India to change demographic and territorial
situation of disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

European press club in Brussels, was attended by a number of intellectuals,
experts and people from different walks of life.
The participants also paid rich tribute to the martyrs of Chota Bazar, Srinagar (of
11 June 1991). It is important to mention that it was on June 11, 1991, the Indian
paramilitary CRPF troops opened indiscriminate firing with automatic weapons in
Chotta Bazaar, the populated downtown area of Srinagar killing 32 innocent
civilians and critically injuring 22 others. The bullets hit shopkeepers, passerby, a
75-year old woman and a child of ten years age.
The seminar presided by Chair of KC-EU Ali Raza Syed was held under the new
SOPs of Covid 19 for indoor gathering in Belgium. Former member European
parliament (MEP) Bjorn Hultin and noted Hungarian Journalist Endre Barces took
part in the seminar as guests of honour. Other speakers were Kashmiri leader

happened but the sad memories of Chota bazar massacre still disturb the
Kashmiris especially whose loved ones were slaughtered by Indian occupation
troops.
Talking about Modi’s government latest plan to formally separate the Jammu
region from Kashmir, the speakers said, any plan or an administrative decision to
separate Jammu from disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir would be a
violation of international laws especially UN security council resolutions which
emphasize on plebiscite in the entire territory of Jammu and Kashmir for final
political decision of the disputed land.
They also expressed their concerns over the current severe situation in occupied
Kashmir.
Kashmir Council EU’s Chairman Ali Raza Syed during his speech reiterated that
Kashmiris’ sacrifices will not be forgotten and their mission for liberation of
Jammu and Kashmir will be definitely taken to its logical conclusion.
He said, although India has so far tried to trap the world on the issue of Kashmir
but it is proved now that Indian crimes against humanity in occupied Jammu and
Kashmir can not be hidden from the world.
Ali Raza Syed asked the international community to stop human rights violations
in the occupied Kashmir and as well play its role for a peaceful resolution of issue
of Jammu and Kashmir.
