The role of Price Control Committee is disappointing and the shopkeepers are selling things at very high price with their own fixed rates. Surprisingly it is important to mention here that even the rates of every shop for same items do not match with eachother. The green vegetables, fruits, chicken, mutton and beef are sold at the high rate. No any responsible official bothers to pay any surprise visit to monitor and check the price list of shopkeepers in order to control the over charging prices. The daily wagers, labour class and poor people can not afford to purchase even daily commodities. The hike in daily consuming articles is beyond the reach of middle class families and the daily wages earners are in great trouble even to manage two square meals. The prices of daily consuming items like milk, sugar, pulses, fruits, vegetables, fish, biscuits and meat are talking to sky. The poor are sandwiched in between two calamities of COVID-19 pandemic and ever increasing high inflation. The current federal government miserably failed to curb the prices of daily eatables. The survival of poor people who are living below the poverty line is under great life threat. The Premier of Pakistan Imran Khan who earlier boasted with promise to serve the masses in real way by bringing a visible change if selected as PM of Pakistan but unfortunately, it was a deception and travesty with poor masses of the country. Since, the day first until now two and a half year elapsed this govt only made hollow claims of following the way of ruling as “Medina State” and always promised to bring hike prices under control to provide relief to the middle class in letter and sprit but all in vain. There is no proper mechanism to monitor the prices of things. The profiteers and hoarding mafias are looting the people without any fear of check and balance. The Deputy Commissioner, Assistant Commissioner, Mukhtiarkar and Price Control Committee should take notice of high inflation and impose heavy fines on shopkeepers who are violating the price lists issued by concerned authorities. The prices of daily use items must be reduced and controlled in coming fiscal year budget to provide relief to the poor citizens of country.
