Indirect Reaction over Induction of Junior- Grade BS-20 PSP Officer Sohail Habib Tajik as IGP AJK ?
MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : Four top BS- 22 / 21 officers of Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK) police Wednesday – simultaneously applied to the competent authority to go for long leave reportedly due to the “unavoidable circumstances”, informed sources said.
When contacted, the sources confirmed that four senior BS-22 and 21 officers of AJK police including BS-22 Additional Inspector General of Police Sardar Faheem Ahmed Abbasi and three Deputy Inspector General of Police including Mr. Tahir Qureshi, Dr. Liaqat Hussain and Mr. Yaseen Qureshi have moved leave applications to the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu Kashmir – the competent authority.
The four top AJK COPS understood to have moved to go on long leave soon after the recent appointment of a junior grade (BS-20) officer of the Police Service of Pakistan Mr. Sohail Habib Tajik, as the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Azad government of the State of Jammu & Kashmir.
Tajik, presently serving in Intelligence Bureau of the Government of Pakistan, was transferred and posted, on Tuesday, as the IGP of Azad Jammu Kashmir, through a notification issued by Establishment Division of the government of Pakistan – under Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Division, under Section 10 of the Civil Servants Act 1973, in terms of Clause (viii) of Karachi Agreement 1949 with immediate effect and until further orders.
This Correspondent understands that four of the above senior AJK police officers moved to go on long leave by indirectly refusing to serve under the newly-inducted junior grade officer top boss of AJK police – IGP Mr. Sohail Habib Tajik – as they consider serving under a junior grade officer as against the normal legal and moral norms of the service protocols.
