Thatta: A team of archeologists visited the cave accidentally discovered a couple of days ago during the extraction of Maruu mountain part of Kohistani mountainous range here on Monday.
The team led by Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi and Abdul Fateh Sheikh that also included Ms. Zahid Qazi and conservator Sarfaraz Jatoi, entered the cave to determine the historical background of the cave. They also took pictures of the cave, the remnants of the fountain, and beautifully carved stones fastened in the cave. There was also a tunnel stretching over hundred kilometers that was yet to be completely discovered.
According to the initial report of the archaeology department, the cave is of special significance owing to its historical background that dates back to the stone age. Historian Dr. Mohammad Ali Manjhi shedding light on its background said ” It can be said that discovery of this cave is a miracle and it belongs to the age of Human evolution”.
Director Archeology Abdul Fateh said that the outermost part of the cave was narrow, however the inner part was quite wide, showing that it could have been used either as the house or as a hideout during the wars in the old ages.
Manjhi said that since there were several tunnels inside the cave they would seek the help of the geology department for exploring them.
They urged the district administration to stop people from entering the cave as there are massive rocks inside the cave that can be life-threatening. Soon a high-profile research would be launched to explore further facts related to this cave they vowed.
