Rawalpindi, (Parliament Times) : Addressing a seminar on “The Role of Overseas Jobs in Eradicating Poverty and Unemployment”, the speakers said that in April this year, Overseas Pakistani workers sent $ 2.8 billion foreign exchange to their country which is the highest in our history.
The Seminar was arranged by the Knight Human Management (KHM) Shalaan Pakistan GL here in School of Arts and Design which was attended by a large number of experts and students including the Chief Executive Officer of KHM Khalid Nawaz, renowned research scholars Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Matiullah, Homoeo Researchers Dr. Niaz Akmal, Dr. Naveed Ahsan, Waqar Al Hassan Naqvi, members of the chambers and overseas Pakistanis.
Khalid Nawaz said that millions of skilled and unskilled workers from across Pakistan, working abroad are playing their role in eradicating poverty and unemployment from the country through overseas employments. “The incumbent government has taken a very important step in this direction by doubling the demand for Pakistani workers in the UAE and Saudi Arabia”, he added.
The other speakers appreciated the recognition of the outstanding services of Knight Human Management (KHM) Shalan Pakistan GL by the International Labor Organization (ILO) for best protecting the interests of both the employers and the employees. They said that ILO has declared KHM as the best institution in the world which is a great honor for our country. “In the pursuit of wealth, where the priorities of each organization are to protect their own financial interests, prioritizing the interests of the employers and the employees is a rare passion which must be valued”, they mentioned.
Dr. Hafiz Matiullah said that the increase in job opportunities in different countries of the world including UAE, Saudi Arabia and Gulf would not only reduce unemployment and poverty in our country but increased remittances would also swell our national economy. He said that the present government has succeeded in increasing the employment opportunities for Pakistanis in UAE and Saudi Arabia on which Prime Minister Imran Khan and his team members deserve congratulations.
Dr. Niaz said that thousands of workers and their families had to face financial problems during the period of the travel ban but now their difficulties are over. During the restrictions on overseas jobs during COVID-19, we have become well aware of the importance and need of overseas employment, he added.
