LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar met with US Senator Chris Van Hollen and appreciated Senator Chris for his role in the bill that will provide economic relief to Pakistan.
According to a statement issued from the Governor’s House, during his visit to the United States of America, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar met with US Senator Chris Van Hollen. On this occasion, Ambassador of Pakistan to the US, Asad Majeed and Democratic leader Tahir Javed were also present. During the meeting, Pak-US relations, Kashmir issue, the situation in the region including Palestine and the war on terror and other issues were discussed. Governor Punjab also appreciated Asad Majeed and Tahir Javed for their positive roles on the diplomatic front and for strengthening Pak-US relations.
Talking to US Senator, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the resolution of the Kashmir and Palestine issues is compulsory for world peace. President Joe Biden has assured that the USA will play a role in resolving the Kashmir issue, adding that he should help resolving the Palestine Issue as well according to the UN resolutions. Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Pakistan stands with peace. In the war against terrorism, the people along with the Pakistani Armed forces have rendered huge sacrifices adding that Pakistan is playing a significant role in facilitating the Afghan peace process and wants good relations with its neighbouring countries.
During the meeting, US Senator Chris Van Hallen told Governor Punjab that the United States values Pakistan’s role in the war on terror. He apprised Governor Mohammad Sarwar on the bill that will make Pakistan economically stronger and discussed ways to further strengthen the bilateral ties between Pakistan and the USA.
