MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : In a statement issued from the central information office, Khawaja Saifudin, the head of central convening committee of JKLF said that the lives of Kashmiri leaders languishing in Indian jails are in danger. He said that the spread of pandemic in India and the inhuman treatment by Indian jail authorities towards the Kashmiri political prisoners in jails have exposed India.
The judicial murder of central hurriyet leader Muhammad Ashraf Sehraie while in custody in Jammu speaks volumes about the ill-treatment the Kashmiri prisoners are met with in Indian jails that puts the lives of jailed Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabir A. Shah, Masarat Aalam, Ayaz Akbar, Farooq A. Dar, Nazir A. Shaikh, Altaf A. Shah, Nayeem A. Khan, Zahoor Ahmed Butt, Raja Kalwal, Zahoor A. Watali and those of women leaders Syeda Asia Andrabi, Fehmida and Naheed Nasreen in danger for they are vulnerable to the disease due to the lack of medical care in jails.
The spokesman said that Khawaja Saifudin appealed to the international community, especially the heads of the international human rights organizations to intervene and save the lives of these Kashmiri leaders who have been the worst victims of political vendetta. He suggested that the international community must impress upon India to release all these Kashmiri leaders who are in jails for being peacefully demanding the right of self-determination for the people of the State of Jammu Kashmir.
According to the party spokesman, the 29th death anniversary of JKLF stalwart Sardar Rasheed Hasrat will be commemorated on 12th May. A special prayers meeting shall be held at party’s central information office in the regards, he added.
In order to deliberate upon the current situation of the freedom movement and the party, the he head of the JKLF central convening committee Khawaja Saifudin, after consultations with the other central party leaders Sardar Javed Hanif (secretary convening committee), M. Rafiq Dar (spokesman), Saleem Haroon, Raja Haqnawaz, Sajid Siddiqi, Sardar M. Anwar Khan and Saleem Butt, decided to convene the meeting of central convening committee on 22nd May after the Eid-ul-Fitr..
According to the party spokesman, Khawaja Saifudin warned India of dire consequences if anything untoward happens with jailed Kashmiri leaders.
