Quetta, (Parliament Times) : An important meeting was held here on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Agriculture Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai on installation of meters on agricultural tube wells in the province, transfer of agricultural tube wells to solar energy, overbilling and difficulties faced by landlords. The meeting was attended by Zamindar Action Committee President and Member Provincial Assembly Malik Naseer Ahmad Shahwani, Secretary Agriculture Qambar Dashti, Secretary Finance Khan Baledi, DG Energy Nusrat Baloch, senior officials of Casco and other concerned officials. The meeting discussed the installation of modern meters on agricultural tube wells on a trial basis in different districts of the province and it was decided that Casco officials would soon complete the survey of suitable districts and feeders and make a proposal in the light of which agricultural tubes. Meters will be installed in Wales on a trial basis and illegal tube wells will be discouraged. In this regard, the Zamindar Action Committee assured the Casco authorities of all possible cooperation in this regard. Malik Naseer Shahwani, Chairman Zamindar Action Committee, while informing the Casco officials about the concerns of the landlords, said that power supply is being provided to the landlords for six hours instead of eight hours while load shedding is being imposed on the landlords. In this meeting, the landlords are being severely affected. In the meeting, the Casco officials stressed on the provision of dues to the Government of Balochistan and assured the timely payment of dues to the Casco officials. The meeting called for early implementation of the solar tube wells solar energy project and in this regard it was decided that the federation would be required to include in the forthcoming budget as much as possible on the transfer of agricultural tubewells to solar energy in Balochistan. Addressing the meeting, Provincial Minister for Agriculture Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai said that the provincial government is well aware of the problems faced by the landlords and is making every effort to solve them. He said that subsidy to agricultural tube wells. The Prime Minister will be approached for the provision of foodgrains, reduction in load shedding and other issues. He said that only the development of agriculture can strengthen the economy of the province and this sector cannot be neglected. He directed the Casco authorities to ensure power supply in all cases.
