Muzaffarabad: International Forum for Justice and Human Rights (IFJHR) staged a protest against the transfer of innocent Kashmiris from jails in occupied Jammu and Kashmir to Indian jails.
They marched from Burhan Wani Chowk to Gharipan while chanting anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Chairman IFJHR Muhammad Ahsan Untoo said in a telephonic address from Srinagar on the latest situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir that Kashmiris are fighting for life in Indian jails.
He maintained that the Supreme Court of India had given a judgment that every prisoner should be kept in local prisons but unfortunately this is not being done.
“We have apprehensions that whether Yasin Malik is alive or has been martyred”, Ahsan added.
Talking about the political prisoners of freedom movement, he said that Shahid-ul-Islam and Farooq Ahmed Dar has been tested Covid-19 positive, adding that Asiya Andrabi, Fehmida Sufi, Naheed Nasreen, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Mohammad Ashraf Sarai, Sajjad Ahmed Butt, Amir Hamza Shah, Abdul Rashid, Nazir Ahmed Sheikh, Syed Imtiaz Haider, Farooq Ahmed Tawhidi, Ghulam Qadir are also suffering imprisonment since long.
“The families of thousands of innocent political Hurriyat workers are looking for their loved ones and no one is getting any news” ,Chairman IFJHR lamented.
Unto said the court should take notice of the plight of the prisoners.
He said that the United Nations, human rights organizations, the European Union, the Security Council should increase pressure on India and persuade India to release Kashmiri political prisoners from Indian jails in view of the current epidemic.
He appealed to the President of AJK, Prime Minister and all political and religious parties to play their effective role in view of the alarming situation in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He also appealed the Pakistani diplomats to play their role to stop human rights violations in IIOJK.
Vice Chairman Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, PPP leader Shaukat Javed Mir, Raja Zaheer Khan, Javed Ahmed Mughal, Advocate Pervez Ahmed, Hamza Shaheen and others were present on the occasion.
