Deadly blows of corona virus claims more 151 lives

Lahore:    As many as 5480 persons tested positive and 151 deaths occurred due to corona virus in Pakistan during the last 24 hours on Thursday.

According to the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) statistics the number of positive cases have ascended to level of 815711 while nationwide tally of fatalities has touched the mark of 17680.
57,013 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours out of which 5, 480 persons tested positive for the disease. Overall 11,739,027 tests have been conducted so far to detect the deadly virus. The positivity ratio was recorded at 9.61 percent during the last 24 hours.

Punjab is the worst affected province in terms of fatalities as 8327 people have died in Punjan due to corona virus so far, 4629 in Sindh, 3238 in KP, 677 in Islamabad, 106 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 233 in Balochistan and 477 in Azad Kashmir.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has changed the banking hours amid a spike in coronavirus cases in the country.

On the other hand, the Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has urged the business community to ensure strict implementation of Standard Operating Procedures in markets and commercial areas to prevent the spread of Covid-19 pandemic.
China has assured Pakistan and other South Asian nations of its continued cooperation in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic by providing both medical supplies and economic assistance, says a joint statement issued at the UN headquarters in New York.
China gave this assurance at a video conference on the joint response to Covid-19 on Tuesday, attended by the foreign ministers of China, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
