Islamabad,(Parliament Times) : The Parliamentary Board of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has completed interviews in connection with the selection of suitable candidates for party tickets in the forthcoming general elections in Azad Kashmir. In the four-day interviews, 196 candidates for 45 Assembly seats appeared before the parliamentary board. On Monday, interviews were conducted with 25 applicants seeking to contest the 12 seats reserved for Kashmiri refugees in Jammu and Kashmir, Pakistan. A meeting of the Parliamentary Board chaired by Faryal Talpur, in-charge of political affairs, was held at Zardari House on Monday. Raja Pervez Ashraf, Syed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari, Qamar-ul-Zaman Kaira, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed, Chaudhry Pervez Ashraf, Chaudhry Muhammad Yaseen, Faisal Mumtaz Rathore, Sardar Javed Ayub, Sardar Qamar Zaman, Mian Abdul Waheed, Amir Ghaffar Lone, Syed Azhar Gilani ,Nabila Ayub Khan and Chaudhry Fakhr-ul-Zaman attended the function.
At the end of the interviews, Faryal Talpur, in-charge of political affairs, expressed her happiness and joy over the healthy atmosphere of competition for contesting elections on PPP Azad Kashmir tickets. She called it a great victory for the PPP in the upcoming elections. She said that the party is united before going to the polls and would contest with all its might. She said that the party workers should be ready to save the mandate of the people from being stolen from now on. The people of Azad Kashmir would not be ready to trust anyone other than the PPP. The PPP completed mega development projects in Azad Kashmir during its previous tenure, strengthened the Azad Kashmir Movement and made the people economically stable. We are ready to continue to be the voice of the Kashmiri people and to serve them under the leadership of party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
