If you see a young boy with a hidden camera on some distance from him outlandishly maligning, tampering or doing something unusual with pedestrians on the road or in a public place you might probably guess that he is a prankster. As social media flourished, and its usage increased locally, multiple content genres were developed, the prank or practical joke has become more popular in Pakistan. In Pakistan, pranks are too different from other countries, as in Pakistan they are mostly played to earn fame and entertain the audience, although they can be also used for positive social experiments and development of society. Pranks make them feel happy or entertain the masses by showing them how one or more persons looks when going through extreme frustration levels or how they react in an undesirable situation. However, there are a lot of types of media productions to entertain the audience.Imagine a person having a cardiac disease or becomes the victim of a prank what outcome could be expected. There are multiple defects in the pranks of Pakistani creators which need to be improved that will make credibility, meet the international level and may play a role in the development of society. The thing that is notable is that a large number of viewers also support such prank videos on social media, by giving them positive feedback rather than criticizing even whatever they are doing in the prank. Such pranks consist of only humiliation and harassment. A prank video of a Youtube channel from Lahore asks unethical questions from girls in public places. Whether the video is scripted but the creator must be conscious about what message their audience would convey while it is a probability that the audience could be children and adolescents. This type of pranks can be categorized as unethical and inappropriate content. Which doesn’t consist of any positive message. After the prank, almost every prankster asks for permission on the name of entertainment or something else from the filmed person or victim of the prank to upload the video on YouTube or other social sites. It might be a girl or boy, but the prankster does not guarantee that which part of the video will be uploaded and which not. And what if the remaining part goes into the wrong hands. Pranks have multiple types Electric shock pranks are one of them. These pranks are dangerous. These pranks are referred as social experiments by pranksters to check out sympathy or honesty among people in public places. While it is not so in reality because multiple ideas can be thought to do so. It is not necessary to give an electric shock to the victim of a prank. In these pranks, a high worth or valued subject is dropped equipped with an electric shock system. When someone looks at it and try to pick it up and put it into his or her pocket at that moment victim receives undesirable electric shock through an electric shock system controlled by a prankster. Viewers should determine how such unethical and vicious activities could be prank which is nothing rather than degradation of humanity.In the past pranksters have lost their life during pranks. In 2015 a teen was killed by police in Faisalabad, as they had mistaken the boy as the robber. The boy was a prankster. In 2016, an 11-year-old boy was shot dead by a security guard in Karachi. The boy had wore a monster mask and scaring the people for the prank video. In 2018 another boy was namely Rana Zuhair was killed. The incident took place when a prank turned into a clash between the victim of the prank and the prankster. Resultantly, the victim opened fire on the prankster. The prank is a good source of entertainment and development of society, but creators should also determine what outcome could be after and during the process of production, and they must follow the code of ethics during the process of creating prank videos.
