Government urged to allocate money for religious institutions: Turabi


Muzaffarabad,   (Parliament Times) :  Chairman Public Accounts Committee Abdul Rashid Turabi apprised the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Raja Farooq Haider Khan of the concerns of religious scholars, religious parties and organizations. The Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan after consulting the scholars resolved the issue. Meanwhile, Abdul Rashid Turabi, while addressing a meeting of the Legislative Assembly, said that endowments and religious schools and institutions are ideological strongholds, weakening them and creating problems for them is the agenda of global colonialism. He said that torture is creating obstacles in the way of aid to these institutions. He said that this is an ideological region whichever party has ruled here has encouraged these institutions. Struggle for the implementation of Islamic system, Qaza and establishment of Iftaa system has been discriminating. He said that the scholars of Azad Kashmir have always promoted tolerance beyond the professional agenda. He said that the present assembly has made the issue of compulsory teaching of Qur’an, Shariat appellate benches equal. He said that

comprehensive legislation regarding the end of prophethood can be said to have been used for Islamization here in every era. He said that the Prime Minister had consulted the scholars regarding the Waqf Property Act and expressed his concerns to take care to address the concerns. Abdul Rashid Turabi, while referring to the points of the resolution passed unanimously in the meeting held at the Jamaat-e-Islami center yesterday, said that the government should allocate money in the budget for madrassas and mosques. He urged that please do not leave it to Allah to teach them the Book of Allah, the Qur’an, so it is the responsibility of the Islamic State to cooperate fully with these institutions.He said that it was a tragedy that the government and international NGOs provided resources on the occasion of the 2005 earthquake but even at this stage religious institutions and mosques were deprived. They should have been given full cooperation but it was not done. Referring to the attention-grabbing notice on the occasion, Abdul Rashid Turabi said that the refugees are an important part of the independence movement of Kashmir. He further said that the policy has been changed for the independence of Kashmir. He said that immediate relief should be provided to the victims of natural calamities and rains.
