Tobacco in Pakistan

Tobacco is dangerously harmful for human and it is creating several diseases such is mouth cancer and lungs cancer. In addition, it causes an array of disease prejudicious to every organ of the body. As a fact, many people aware that smoking is linked with lung cancer, which is common in our country. The tobacco in the form of paan, naswar, gutka etc. Further, smokeless tobacco is consumed by more than 350 million individuals worldwide and more than 80 per cent of its use in south Asia. Also tobacco is collegiate to the development of ischemic heart disease strokes as well as stillbirth and low birth weight. Unfortunately, Pakistan is among the top 15 countries in the world with widespread tobacco consumption and higher rates of tobacco related health issue. According to 2019 estimates, 19.1 percent of the population, 31.8 per cent of men and 5.8 percent of women. Many people are dying in a month because of it and increasing day by day. Thus, government should terminate such addiction and educate the public the harmful effects of smoking and smoklees tobacco and save the nation.
