Hafiz Sheikh removed, Hammad Azhar appointed new finance minister
ISLAMABAD: Notification of appointment of Hammad Azhar as finance minister has been issued.
Hafiz Sheikh has been removed as finance minister and Hammad Azhar, federal minister for revenue has been replaced Hafiz Sheikh while cabinet division has issued notification in this regard. The notification on removal of Hafiz Sheikh as finance minister has also been issued.
The Cabinet Division has on Tuesday issued notifications of the appointments of Hammad Azhar as Finance Minister and Tabish Gohar as Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Power and Petroleum.
This is the third time that the PM Imran Khan-led Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government has changed its Finance Minister and underwent major cabinet reshuffle in less than three years.
Hammad Azhar has replaced Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and Tabish Gohar has succeeded Nadeem Babar. \
Notification on removal of Nadeem Babar from the office of special assistant has also been issued. A few days earlier Nadeem Babar had left the portfolio of special assistant for petroleum
