LAHORE: Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar has laid the foundation stone of the “First Acute Stroke Center” at General Hospital Lahore. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar also attended the inaugural ceremony of the ‘’South Punjab Induction Training Program’’ which has been started to provide online training to doctors of South Punjab. Talking to the media, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar said that the first step towards the success of any health system is family physicians for which a pilot project will be launched soon. Strict compliance with SOPs is mandatory to prevent spike in Coronavirus cases.
According to the details, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar on Tuesday laid the foundation stone of the “First Acute Stroke Center” for treatment of heart diseases at the General Hospital in Lahore. Principal General Hospital Muhammad Al-Farid Zafar was present among others on the occasion. Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar also attended the meeting regarding the South Punjab Induction Training Program at Governor’s House. The President of the World Health Organisation Dr Jamshaid Ahmad, Vice-Chancellor of University of Health Sciences Prof Javaid Akram was present among other senior doctors. During the briefing in the meeting, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar was apprised that the purpose of the induction training program is to provide online training to the doctors of South Punjab and in view of the Coronavirus Pandemic, the doctors will be given online training.
Addressing the meeting of the “South Punjab Induction Training Program”, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar congratulated the Provincial Department of Health and UHS for implementing the comprehensive training plan and said that the rural population of South Punjab will benefit from this system. The first step towards the success of any health system is family physicians and a pilot project on family physicians will be launched soon. Pakistani doctors have proved their skills all over the world. The services of our frontline healthcare workers during the Coronavirus Pandemic are commendable.
On the other hand, while talking to the media on the occasion of the inauguration of the First Acute Stroke Center at General Hospital Lahore, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said that the federal and Punjab governments are taking historic steps in the health sector. The Sehat Insaaf Card is benefitting the entire population of Khyber Pakhtunkwa, adding that in Punjab all citizens will have access to the Health Insaaf Card facility by the end of December that will provide health facilities of Rs 7 lac to every citizen. He said that the Coronavirus insurgence can be even more dangerous so the public should strictly follow the SOPs to prevent the spread Coronavirus.
