Seminaries offer great service to nation by imparting Quranic education: AJK president

MUZAFFARABAD/ MIRPUR (AJK), (Parliament Times) : The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) President, Sardar Masood Khan has said that the state government is determined to solve the problems of the teachers deputed to impart Quranic education and the government decided to enhance their remuneration.
He said this after a meeting of Tajveed ul Quran Trust here on Tuesday. The meeting was also attended by Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan, Minister for Auqaf and Zakat Raja Abdul Qayyum, Secretary Auqaf Sardar Javed Ayub and members of the trust.
Sardar Masood Khan who is also chairman of the trust said that increase in the remuneration of the Trust’s teachers was an old demand, and it was our own desire also to enhance their remuneration so that they can devotedly focus on imparting Quranic education to the children.
Saying that religion plays an important role in shaping our society, the President said that our seminaries are rendering great services to the nation by getting our children learn the Holy Book by heart with its specific principles.
He said that the whole nation appreciated male and female Qaris for performing the great task of protecting the Quran in the hearts and minds of the children, and now their remuneration has been enhanced from 12,000 rupees to 16,000 rupees per month.
Earlier, the trust had been contributing 8,000 rupees and the remaining 4,000 rupees was provided by the local committees, and now the trust will contribute additional 3,000 rupees while the local committee will provide 1,500 rupees bringing the total remuneration to 16,500 rupees per month.
The meeting also decided to appoint inspectors Qari, on availability of resources for the inspection and reporting of the religious institutions being run by the trust. About the proposal of levying of Tajveed ul Quran Trust Cess of 10 rupees on domestic electricity bills, the meeting decided to make any decision after proper legislation in this regard.
