Health Employees Federation Haveli hold token strike, protest in DC office premises

Haveli Kahuta (Umar Butt):  A protest has staged on the joint call of Health Employees Federation District Haveli and its affiliated affiliates here on Friday.
The demonstration started from District Headquarters Hospital and turn into function at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office premises. A large number of medical staff, lady health workers, HEOs, YNA, PMAS, YDA officials and appellants in the affiliates participated in the event.
Speakers at the event expressed their views about the charter of demands including Health Allowance, Risk Allowance, Dress and Mess Allowance, Revised Structure Allowance, Civil Servant Allowance, Permanentaion of contract Health employe ) and requested government to be fulfilled as soon as possible.

Among other speakers, Sharif Aftab said that health workers continued their public service by putting their lives on the line during the covid 19 epidemic, many of them sacrificed their lives. “We are not interested in taking to the streets but we are forced to do so in time,” he said. All our demands which are also accepted by the officials of Azad Kashmir government are legitimate. If our demands are not implemented by March 5, this token strike will turn into a pen drop strike which may cause a danger for an emergency patient. If this occurs the entire responsibility fell on the government of Azad Kashmir and those responsible. Speaking on the occasion, President (YDA) Dr. Shafiq said that at present the salary of a Grade 17 health officer in Federal is around one and a half lakh while in Azad Kashmir it is only seventy thousand which is an injustice.
