ISLAMABAD:   Narendra Modi’s government has postponed this year’s census in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) till 2026 to change population ratio of the Muslim-majority region.
According to the statistics of the last census that was held in 2011, 68 percent of the population was Muslim while Hindus were 28 percent and four percent were Sikhs and Buddhists.
Indian has issued Kashmir’s domicile to over 1.8 million people under its new Domicile Law including 6,600 retired army officers of Gorkha community. Over 10,000 laborers from Bihar will be settled in Kashmir.
Separate Israel-style colonies are being built for four to five hundred thousand Kashmiri Pandits. The Control of Building and Operation Act, 1988 and Jammu and Kashmir Development Act, 1970 have been changed to allow construction to army and cantonment boards.
The Modi regime has allotted 20,000 kanals of land to Hindu investors, over two hundred thousand acres to foreign investors and 129 kanals in Baramulla to security forces after removing the condition of special certificate. The Indian forces have already occupied 53,353 hectares in Kashmir.
Indian has started to alter delimitations. To gain simple majority, seven seats of the legislative assembly will be given to Jammu instead of Kashmir according to the new plan despite Kashmir having more population.
A new division is being constituted comprising districts of Ramban, Kishtwar, Doda, Shopian, Anantnag and Kulgam. It is pertinent here to mention that the economy of Kashmir has suffered a loss of $5.3 billion since August 2019 when New Delhi illegally revoked the valley’s autonomy.
