The National Health Card is a historic and revolutionary project of Pakistan, under which people below the poverty line can get free treatment by using the SEHAT CARD. Last year, in February, Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that Pakistan would be made a great welfare state under the principles of the state of Madinah. In this regard, a health insurance system was introduced in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the first time. Earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has claimed that all the people of the province will get free treatment in government and private hospitals through Health Plus Card.

On 24 September, A spokesman for the Ministry of Health said that the scope of the National Health Card has been extended to the entire country and the program is underway in 90 districts of Pakistan. Prior to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the health facility cards have also been distributed in Punjab. Under this program, health cards have been provided to 5 million families in Punjab. In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the health cards usage for the local artists has become difficult. However, working in PTV for two decades, Artist Murad Awan has been suffering from eye disease for the past several years, but he did not have the money to undergo surgery and was returned from the hospital without surgery. Murad Awan’s doctor says that the operation costs Rs 70,000 while the health card has a limit of Rs 25,000 for eye treatment. According to Health Card policy, in the first category, which is called secondary care, people can get the treatment of diseases including medical or surgery using the health card. Despite government claims, some patients do not receive full treatment with a health card.

It is a story of every poor in Pakistan, where there is no money for food, how can medicine be bought. The KPK Government must have noticed that the policies they plan are distributed by the management.
