ISLAMABAD, (Parliament Times) : Pak-China air drill concluded with firm determination to deal with Shaheen-IX joint security challenges at Pakistan Air Force Operational Air Base yesterday. Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan as the chief guest, Nong Rong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, and Modern fighter jets of Pakistan Air Force and Chinese Air Force and other supporting elements attended the closing ceremony of The joint air exercise Shaheen-IX at Operational Base. Chinese Ambassador attended the closing ceremony as the guest of honor. The national anthems of both the countries were also played at the beginning of the ceremony. Addressing the participants, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Mujahid Anwar Khan said that in view of the current global security situation and the changing situation of air warfare, not only Pakistan and China but also the forces of both the countries are in a strong partnership. He said that it is commendable that Pak-China friendship is getting stronger with each passing year. In this regard, The CPEC project is a game changer and will be a testament to the common goals and achievements of both countries. The Air Chief also thanked Commander General Hong for sending such a large contingent to participate in the exercise, despite the dangers posed by Covid-19. Chinese Ambassador said that due to the increasing complexities in the current security situation, significant changes are taking place in the international and regional situation. Cooperation between the two countries and their armed forces is a matter of urgency to maintain peace and stability in the region and to meet common challenges. “During the exercise, the two air forces have achieved a number of military achievements and shared goals”, he added.
