ZHOB: “The land settlement of Shamilat (community land) is being carried out only for the benefit of a few influential persons. If the settlement process is not stopped immediately, the tribal feuds will erupt,” said the tribesmen of Killi Sheikhan Sheikh Ashraf Mandokhail, Sheikh Haji Noor-ud-Din, Sheikh Kamran, Sheikh Sultan Shah, Sheikh Haji Shah Jehan, Sheikh Ayoub, Sheikh Zubair , Sheikh Azmir, Sheikh Nawaz, Sheikh Muhibullah Sheikh Sabir, Sheikh Amir Sultan and Sheikh Abdul Hameed while addressing a press conference here.

They expressed serious concerns over the recent land settlement of Mouza Sheikhan and said that without taking the real owners and notables of Mouza Sheikhan into confidence, on the directives of Balochistan High Court, the Revenue department backed by some influential persons has started the land settlement.

“There is no demarcation with other neighboring tribes and besides this, there are ongoing land disputes among them,” adding, most of the cases are pending in different courts, while some are under arbitration or Sharia, they said.

“We had appealed the Tehsildar, Revenue department and Balochistan High Court to stop the settlement, but our appeal has not been responded yet. The concerned department is doing a great injustice with the real owner of land,” they lamented.

“An application has been submitted with the Balochistan High Court for a stay but no stay is being granted to us. The land settlement is aimed at transferring the land belonged to our ancestors that will not be tolerated at any cost”. They further said that, if they did not get justice, they will move the Supreme Court and the Judicial Commission for the redressal of their grievances. They appealed to the CM Balochistan, Governor, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Zhob division and other concerned authorities to intervene and restrain the officials from the land settlement of Mouza Sheikhan.
