Scientific education key to socio-economic development of any nation: PM AJK

MIRPUR (AJK),  (Parliament Times) :   Azad Jammu and Kashmir Prime Minister Raja Muhammad Farooq Haider Khan has said that modern and scientific education was the key to progress and development of any country.

He underlined the need for taking full benefit from the scientific education for progress and prosperity of the state.

Addressing after signing a memorandum of understanding between the social welfare department of Azad Kashmir and Path Finder International in the federal capital on Tuesday he said the conference of Ulema, elected representatives and members of civil society will be convened to finalize a national line of action to control the population.

Haider said under the agreement signed between Azad Kashmir social welfare department and Path Finder International will jointly devise strategy to control population and other health related issues including child and mother care health and also rejected the speculations about corona and polio vaccine.

The Prime Minister said the fast increasing trend in population has posed a big challenge to the development and prosperity of the state and added that effective awareness campaigns at every level would help achieve the desired results.

He referred to steps taken by the government to empower the women through proper legislation.

Referring to the women empowerment through ensuring their vibrant role in the progress and development of the State Farooq Haider said women were given representation in different areas and about 3500 lady health workers were also given permanent employment in health department and took solid measures for the protection of women folk.
