    Religious seminaries received desktop computers, toolkits

    ZHOB,(Parliament Times): In order to bring the religious seminaries into the mainstream and help the seminaries students, Balochistan Rural Support Program under its Youth Empowerment Programme (YEP/TVET) – financed by PATRIP Foundation distributed desktop computers among seminary teachers and toolkits among the skilled persons who have received technical training in Rawalpindi in various trades.

    District Education Officer Lal Jan Musakhail was the chief guest, while the distribution ceremony was presided over by Assistant Director Local Government Fazal Qadir Mandokhail. District Programme Manager BRSP Ibrahim Agha, Senior Social Organizer Zahir Khan, Saeedullah Lawoon of UNICEF, Mehmood Khan Lawoon of Education Support Programme, Mufti Shahab-ud-Din, Qari Sharafuddin, Allama Naseem Babar, Molvi Rafiullah Sherani and Asad Khan of BRSP Betani attended the event. Speaking on the occasion, senior social organizer Zahir Khan and DPM Ibrahim Agha said that BRSP is the only non-governmental organization in the province that is supporting religious seminaries.

    “One hundred and ninety religious seminaries in seven districts of the province have been provided with classrooms and students have been provided with computers, furniture and stationery,” he said, adding thirteen hundred and fifty seminary students in ten religious seminaries in Zhob will benefit from the resources provided by the BRSP in getting modern education.

    He said that religious seminaries have always played a significant role in the solidarity of the nation. Keeping in view the requirements of this modern era, BRSP has been supporting the seminaries for the common cause. BRSP is a rural support programme working in every nook and corner of Balochistan on education, health, social mobilization, human resource development, livelihood and emergency response. It has endeavored determinately to improve the living conditions of unprivileged rural communities.
