Decision taken to close parliament house for two weeks in the face of deadly corona waive

 

ISLAMABAD:  Decision has been taken to close parliament house for two weeks in the face of severe corona virus w aive.

Being over 70 employees of National Assembly (NA) and Senate tested positive, speaker NA Asad Qaisar has informed the Prime Minister (PM) House about this decision after consultation with chairman Senate.

Sources said that hike in corona cases in every department of NA secretariat and Senate secretariat has reached alarming proportion owing to onset of second deadly waive of corona epidemic. The working women are too among the victims of this virus.

The employees of Senate secretariat in most have been impacted with this virus. The infected employees have been quarantined in their homes. Above 70 positive cases have been confirmed among the employees of NA and Senate so far.

Sources disclosed that speaker NA Asad Qaisar has completed consultation process with chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani to close parliament house.

Parliament house will be closed for two weeks after the decision is taken. It has also been decided that NA session will not be summoned during the month of December.

Sources said that PM house has been informed about all this situation.
