Anti-Polio Campaign kicks off in district Gawadar
Gwadar, (Parliament Times) : The National Polio Eradication Campaign has been launched by the District Health Department under Corona SOPs at the main transit point of Gwadar District including Pak-Iran border. Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Major (retd) Abdul Kabir DHO Dr. Ghulam Farooq , MS Civil Hospital Gwadar Dr. Abdul Latif Dashti, District Population Welfare Officer Sartaj Gichki , WHO Polio Eradication Officers and other concerned officers participated in the inauguration ceremony. In a briefing to DC Gwadar regarding polio arrangements, DHO Dr. Ghulam Farooq said that in the coastal areas of Gwadar District, Pasni Jiwani, Kuppar, Peshukan ormara and in the border areas of Gabd, Kalato, Pak-Iran border 250 and other border areas, Arrangements have also been made under Corona SOPs. He said that the total population of Gwadar district is 212000 and a target has been set to vaccinate 36040 children in Gwadar district with polio vaccine. To base union 23 supervisors in races and 154 teams for door-to-door polio vaccination have been formed. District Health Officer said that 36 area in-charge 22 fax centers and 9 transit points have been set up in Gwadar district with the special cooperation of Pakistan Coast Guard in coastal areas. Polio teams are performing fearless and dangerous services at the check posts. Dr. Abdul Latif Dashti, MS, told DC that round-the-clock polio vaccination facility has been made available at DHQ Hospital, Gwadar. Thanks to the coordination, no parent in Gwadar refuses to be vaccinated against polio. District Health Officer Dr. Ghulam Farooq said on the occasion of the polio campaign that WHo to monitor the performance of the teams serving during the polio campaign in Gwadar district In addition to keeping monitors, the Polio Evening Meeting is also held regularly under the supervision of the District Administration.
