LAC organizes folk music program in connection with Sindh Culture Day

Lahore:   Lahore Art Council has organized a special evening with renowned folk singer Shaukat Faqeer in connection with Sindh culture day in which Shoukat Faqeer performed different songs in Urdu, Punjabi, Pashto, Balochi,sindi,Marwari and Saraiki. “Ho Jamalo” has been the reason of Shoukat Faqeer’s popularity. There was a huge variety in the program that inspired the audience. On Social Media, live program was appreciated the most by the viewers. Youngsters participated with strict observance of Corona SOPs. The program contained very interesting content for the people having any culture of Pakistan. The reason of people’s love for Alhamra is that it has been organizing such programs which are based on local culture, languages, customs, norms and values. The song “Ho-Jamalo” captured the attention. ‘‘Yar dadi ishq atish lai hai’’ was performed in Saraiki, ‘’mara ay, mara sada yar jo ay’’ in Punjabi, ‘’Jiye Sindh Jiye’’ in Sindhi, ‘’Taloo-e-Seher hai Sham e Qalandar’’ in Urdu, ‘’Khari neem k neche hun’’ in Marwari’’ and other items in other languages were represented exclusively. The executive director Lahore Art Council Alhamra Saman Rai expressed his feelings about this great evening and said had the mixture of traditional songs had made the program unique which could become a good reason for the promotion of Folk-singing and National-harmony. People from across the world, especially Lahoris watched the program and felt its cultural variety and depth. This program was particularly organized for our youth so that they could realize their golden values because such traditional songs contain emotional, national, cultural associations which can force the youth to stay united. The purpose to arrange this program was successfully achieved as many of the youngsters participated and enjoyed each moment at Alhamra. Cultural troupe from Gilgit Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, KPK, Sindh, Balochistan and Punjab have been performing from Alhamra’s International Cultural Stage in front of Zinda Dilan-e-Lahore. Alhamra Art Council is committed to continue such efforts in future to keep the nation connected.
