KARACHI: Fire in two factories and one godown reduced cloth, shoes and other valuables worth millions of rupees to ashes at three different areas of Karachi on the night between Monday and Tuesday.
According to media reports, the fire broke out at a textile mill located near Valika Chaurangi area of Karachi which engulfed the entire building of textile mill, destroying more than 100,000 metres of cloth.
Fire also erupted at a garment factory situated in the New Karachi Industrial Area which spread to other parts of the factory very quickly. Rescue sources said that cloth worth millions of rupees was gutted in the fire.
In yet another incident, fire broke out at a shoes godown located in Motan Das Market on late Monday night. Shoes and other valuables worth millions of rupees were destroyed by the fire.
Fire brigade and rescue teams managed to bring the fires at three different places under control after hectic efforts. Rescue sources informed that no casualty was reported in the incidents.
