AIOU, Jazz Business sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU)


Islamabad:  (Parliament Times)    Iqbal Open University (AIOU) and Jazz Business signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU). As per the MoU, Jazz Business will not only provide high speed data bundles to the students of AIOU on discounted rates but would also provide Jazz cash services to facilitate them to deposit their fee. MoU signing ceremony was held yesterday at the main campus of the university, Islamabad. Prof Dr Zia Ul Qayyum, VC, AIOU, Deans of various faculties, professors and administrative officials participated in the MoU signing ceremony. Moreover, various representatives from Jazz Business were also present on the occasion including chief business officer, Ali Naseer, regional business head, Usmna Javed and various other prominent figures. Prof. Dr. Zial Ul-Qayyum, while addressing the MoU signing ceremony’s participants, said that in the present scenario, the need and importance of the use of technology in the filed of education is multiplied. He further added that this MoU is highly significant as a vast majority of the students of AIOU belong to less developed areas of Pakistan with limited or virtually no internet services who would now be provided high speed internet facilities at their doorsteps to utilize all online services offered by AIOU. He, also, announced that AIOU would collaborate with other telecom companies to facilitate students so that they can choose any telecom company of their interest. He, further, highlighted that university is gradually shifting its entire operations from manual handling to automation and digitization which would ensure both transparency and efficiency in providing educational services to the students. Mr Ali Naseer, Jazz Business chief officer, greatly admired AIOU’s contributions in the field of education and promised maximum cooperation with the university to promote education in the country.
