Islamabad: (Parliament Times) Secretary General of the International Harmony Council and President Institute of Peace and Development INSPAD Dr. Sardar Muhammad Tahir Tabassum has said that violent tensions between sectarians and sects are an attempt to harm the country’s interests. Religious Scholars and elders ulama & spiritual dignities should pay immediate attention to this issue. In a statement, Sardar Tahir Tabassum said that the government’s consensus on the 22-points code of conduct for religious harmony is a good effort and we appreciated but its immediate implementation is a matter of urgency. He said that the martyrdom of Maulana Dr Adil Khan was a conspiracy to turn sectarianism into enmity and its poles were similar to those of India which was involved in vile acts against Muslims on every front. He said that after the demolition of the Babri Masjid, India engaged in conspiracies to pit Muslims against each other. Scholars of all sects should also realize this. Many such clerics are being used as pawns in Pakistan and are being given large sums of money to spread sectarianism in the country.
Sardar Tahir Tabassum further said that the government should keep a close watch and open eyes on the groups and individuals promoting sectarianism and crack down on them and arrest them.
