Asif Zardari indicted in Park Lane, Thatta water supply references, former president pleads not guilty


ISLAMABAD:     Accountability Court (AC) Islamabad has indicted Asif Ali Zardari in two more NAB references including Park Lane and Thatta water supply while the former president has pleaded not guilty.

Judge Azam Khan of AC court room No 2 took up the case for hearing on Monday.

Asif Ali Zardari and other accused persons marked their attendance in the court.
The accused Sher Ali who was absent on previous hearing also appeared in the court. He told the court that he could not appear being sick. Court is requested to show leniency .

The court remarked “ your arrest warrants are cancelled keeping in view your old age.

During the hearing of the case charge sheet in respect of Park Lane and Thatta water supply references were given to Asif Ali Zardari and other co-accused. Copies of charge sheet were also provided to the accused persons.

As many as 19 accused were indicted in Park Lane reference and 15 accused were indicted in Thatta water supply reference. All the accused pleaded not guilty.

The court directed NAB to present witnesses on October 20 in Park Lane supplementary reference and on October 21 in Thatta water supply reference.

In park lane reference, Nabil Zahoor, Ahsan Aslam and Abdul Kabir will record their statement as witnesses while Imran Mehmood, Ali Raza and Tariq Munir will record their statements as witnesses in Thatta Water supply reference.
