KILLA SAIFULLAH: Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme has been resumed in Killa Saifullah district. The government has decided to reopen Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme registration centers after a decrease in reported cases of Covid-19 pandemic.
According to Junior Executive of the programme in Killa Saifullah Faridullah Kakar, the registration is very beneficial for the poor families. The people have been appealed to visit Ehsaas Emergency Cash Center and get their registration done. In order to provide relief to marginalized segments of the society, the government has initiated the programme in every nook and corner of the county. He said.
“The head of a poor family will be given a monthly stipend. A woman can also be the head of a family. For registration the applicant must have Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC),” he said.
The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Programme is one of the biggest relief packages for the poor people in Pakistan’s history. The Program has disbursed four-month financial aid of Rs. 12,000 to over 12 billion beneficiaries (families) across the country,” he said, adding amid adverse impact of the coronavirus on the poor segment of society, the government has now decided to enhance the programme from Rs 144 billion to Rs 203 billion that will facilitate around 17 million families across the country. The official added.
Quoting Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Safety and Poverty Alleviation Dr. Sania Nishtar, he said almost half of the population of the country will be covered under the programme. The government had launched several initiatives including Ehsaas Emergency Cash program to deal with coronavirus pandemic in the country. He explained.
