PPP, PML-N refuse to go for a written agreement on occasion of APC

ISLAMABAD:    Opposition parties have failed to evolve a clear strategy in connection with September 20 All Parties Conference amid the reports that both PML-N and PPP have even refused to go for any written accord on the occasion of APC.

These two major parties have said that the signatures on the resolutions to be passed on the occasion of APC should be considered written agreement.

Sources said smaller parties including JUI-F are of the view that there should be a categorical agenda in APC because this government has come through fake mandate therefore, all the opposition parties should resign from National Assembly and provincial assemblies. This move will lead to mount pressure on government. It will be a big challenge for the government to hold re-polling on these hundreds of seats. But PPP and PML-N are not ready to agree to it.

They are of the opinion that mass contact movement should be launched to pressurize the government. The schedule of public meetings and processions should be evolved in this respect and be announced in APC. Two to three resolutions be adopted against the government. But the two major parties are not ready to enter into written agreement which was demanded by Maulana Fazlur Rehman during his meeting with PML-N delegation.

The consultation process of Rahbar committee is underway for bringing a consensus resolution.

On the other hand PML-N has not decided on the participation of Maryam Nawaz in the APC so far. It is in quandary over her name. Nawaz Sharif wants participation of Maryam Nawaz while Shahbaz Sharif is opposing it. Therefore, Maryam Nawaz name has not been incorporated in the list given to PPP.
