MIRPURKHAS: Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that it is clear that there is not one but two Pakistans in the “New Pakistan” of Imran Khan and stressed that law should be same for all as double standards are hollowing the system.
PPP Chairman was addressing a press conference at the divisional headquarters on the third day of his visit to rain and flood affected districts Umerkot, Tharparker and Mirpurkhas.
PPP Chairman pointed out that the case against former President Asif Ali Zardari was not about the Toshakhana reference, but the actual cases are for the 18th Amendment, the NFC Award and giving the powers to the people to run their government through the empowerment of Parliament. He said that when former President is being dragged to the courts through the NAB. When former Presidents and Prime Ministers are facing cases so everyone should be held accountable including the Special Assistants to Imran Khan, he added.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari stated that former dictator Musharraf has admitted that he received billions of rupees in gifts. Did he submit the required amount to the Toshakhana? Someone will ask where did he get the property and huge money abroad? He said that everyone must be held accountable, otherwise stop this joke in the name of accountability adding that NAB first arrests, then investigates and then files references. Why this method is not adopted for those in government and members of PTI cabinet.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari raised the question of when the JIT will be formed against the Prime Minister Imran Khan and his special assistants as the Prime Minister cannot even seek resignation from his special assistant whose assets abroad have been uncovered.
Talking about the situation of rains in Sindh, the PPP Chairman said that floods and worst monsoon rains have caused huge damages and everyone has to unite in this national tragedy. He said people had not yet recovered from the Corona virus outbreak affects and locust attacks, have again been devastated by the rains. Mirpurkhas division received the heaviest rainfall, causing heavy damage in rural areas.
PPP Chairman said that Sindh government alone could not face the natural calamity, the Federal government should fulfill its responsibilities and follow the steps taken by the PPP’s Federal government after the floods of 2011. He said that the Prime Minister should not come to Sindh on a five-hour trip but come and sit here, look, and become a captain and help the flood victims. He said that relief should be provided to poor and small farmers by imposing agriculture emergency.
To a question, he criticized the Federal Ministers and asked them first become human beings then become a politician, first become a man then become a minister.
