Nawaz declared proclaimed offender, Zardari, Gillani others indicted in Tosha Khana reference


ISLAMABAD:   Accountability Court (AC) has declared former Prime Minister (PM) Mian Nawaz Sharif besides indicting former president Asif Ali Zardari, former PM Yousuf Raza Gillani, Abdul Ghanni Majeed and Anwar Majeed in Tosha Khana reference.
The accused have pleaded not guilty.
Judge Syed Asghar Ali of AC took up the case for hearing Wednesday.

Asif Ali Zardari, Abdul Ghani Majeed and Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani appeared as accused in the court. The attendance of Anwar Majeed was marked through video link.

The court has summoned property details of Nawaz Sharif within seven days from NAB so that legal proceedings could be initiated to seize the property.

The judge Asghar Ali remarked “we declare Nawaz Sharif proclaimed offender and Asif Ali Zardari, Yousuf Raza Gillani, Abdul Ghani Majid and Majid Anwar are indicted.

Judge Asghar Ali inquired if the accused are pleading not guilty.

The accused pleaded not guilty upon it. Syed Yousuf Raza Gillani came upto rostrum and told the court Prime Minister is authorised to approve summary. NAB framed wrong reference on misuse of powers. I have never done any thing against rules. What summary was forwarded to me as per law I approved it.

Judge Asghar Ali remarked “ we are not talking on merits of the case at present. You should tell it to the court during trial how the summary came and how it was approved
It is to be mentioned here that NAB had alleged Asif Ali Zardari and Nawaz Sharif of getting cars from former PM Yousaf Raza Gillani through illegal way.
The court while summoning the NAB witnesses Waqar ul Hassan Shah, Zubair Siddiqui and Imran Zafar on September 24 adjourned the hearing of the case.
