ZHOB: Dental section at the government-run District Headquarters civil hospital started work in the newly-constructed building.
Medical staff under the supervision of senior dental surgeon Dr. Abdul Jalil Khattak has started treatment and dental surgeries at the newly-built block at the state-run hospital.
“Setting up of the department in a new building will not only facilitate the male dental patients but special arrangements have also been made for the treatment of female patients,” head of the section, senior dental surgeon, Dr. Abdul Jalil Khattak said.
He said the posting of a family dental surgeon has also been demanded on immediate basis. The dental section now has the capacity to admit patients coming from far-off areas of the district.
Dr. Khattak expressed hope that, the dental patients will now get themselves treated with state-of-the-art surgical instruments as the section is equipped with sterilization facility for the first time in the history.
“Establishment of such kind of dental block was the basic and essential need of the entire region. Owing to the longstanding demand of the patients, a well-equipped dental department has been opened at the civil hospital,” he added.
He said the people would get relief with the availability of modern facilities at their doorstep because earlier the people were compelled to visit the provincial capital for dental surgeries. Dr. Khattak said.
“A demand list has been sent to the Medical Supply Department for the provision of instruments needed for teeth filling, undertakes the root canal procedure and dental X-ray machine,” he explained.
It is to be mentioned that the DHQ civil hospital caters to over half million estimated population of Zhob. The annual budgetary grant for the DHQ is insufficient for the procurement of medicines and other supplies. The medicine shortage has added the miseries of both in-door and out-doors patients, the patients complained.
