Kabul: (Raja Furqan Ahmed) Afghanistan will transfer seven ‘hardcore’ prisoners to Qatar whose release has been demanded by the Taliban before the start of Intra-Afghan Talks. According to the reports, the US, Australia and France had requested to remain some prisoners in custody after having killed their nationals. The prisoners would be freed soon, although the government did not want to release them on the grounds that they had killed foreign soldiers and they would be shifted to Doha. Meanwhile, This week the Afghan government had released 200 of the remaining 320 Taliban prisoners and the rest would be freed soon. Earlier, Masood Stanekzai, the head of the negotiating team, said in his tweet that Intra-Afghan talks would start “soon”.
