ZHOB: All Parities Action Committee (APAC) has strongly condemned the ‘unethical’ interference and the forced closure of construction work of the University College of Zhob – Balochistan University of Information Technology and Management Sciences (BUITMS) by the security forces.

ANP president Anwer Mandokhail, Pk-MAP leader Jamal Mandokhail, JUI leader Hafiz Hazrat Gul Babar, PML-Q leader Baz Khan Mandokhail, PML-N leader Ajmal Awan, JI leader Hafiz Abdul Nasir, Akhter Shah Kakar, Baran Kaliwal, Baloch Khan Kakar, Molvi Hameedullah, Muhammad Rahim Mandokhail and Hafiz Muhibullah addressing while a public gathering at Zarif Shaheed park said that Balochistan High Court in its judgment had declared the land as the property of local tribes, but the forces ignored the court’s judgment, administrative reports and all revenue records. Finally the construction work of the university campus has been forcibly stopped. They lamented.

“It is an attempt to deprive the youth of education deliberately and push thousands of poor and unfortunate students of the region into violent extremism, despite the fact that education is the basic right of every citizen. This malpractice will not be tolerated at any cost,” the political leaders said.

They said, all the local tribes, political parties and social organizations in the area are protesting against the closure of the construction work and the issue has also been raised on the floor of Senate, but despite all hue and cries, the contractor has been kept away from the construction site.

They further said that the two acres of land owned by the locals was provided for the construction of university and the work started three years ago. Work permission was given by the former Brigadier Intikhab Alam of the 29 Brigade, but three years later the contractor has been barred from working on the pretext of dispute over land ownership.

They demanded that the work must be started as soon as possible in the light of court verdict and revenue record; otherwise a protest movement would be launched against it.
